At the beginning of January, we were reviewing the company projections and feeling extremely positive on the outlook for 2020. Our team was up and running smoothly, our clients were happy and work was interesting and challenging.

I am pretty sure I am not the only one reiterating those words. We are all navigating through this situation together for the first time. At Fenwick & Company, our plan is as it always has been: Keep employees informed and safe, be there to support our clients, their renovations, their businesses as well as support the local companies that support us.

Projects will be moving forward, they will just move forward in a new way. We have so many tools to communicate with these days. For instance, with Zoom you can meet and virtually present so that it almost feels like face-to-face meetings.

We can share desktops and look at the same documents in real time. We can look at drawing sets, images and even view materials. It is interesting because, I so enjoy the personal interaction with clients. I won’t be able to have you, the client, see and feel the materials as you would in person, but I can send them to you by post or courier.

The one thing I recognize is that the need for interior designers will always be there. The home environment is more important than ever. Our homes are what soothe and support our souls in times of uncertainty. Interior Designers create those spaces that impact our wellbeing and positive outlook. Our nervous system is greatly affected by our surrounding environment. We respond, whether we know it or not, with the production of stress hormones. Get rid of the negative environment and you release your stress. We seek a calming space when we need to relax and rejuvenate. Interior Designers know how to create a sanctuary in your everyday life – in your home and also at work.

In these next few weeks, if you are inspired to enhance your home – you are not alone. It is because we all instinctively want to improve our surroundings.

If you are spending lots of time at home and you feel the need for change – it’s time to seek out the guidance of a professional. At this time, until circumstances get better, we may not be able to proceed in the same manor as we did before, but we can give you design direction to prepare for the end of this chapter and the beginning of a new one.

Anything we can do to provide support – we are right here for you and look forward to working with you.
